FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
The Basics: Most workshops are held within 45 minutes of Seattle, WA. Please review your specific list of What to Bring. Itineraries may vary slightly from the description depending on location and area of focus for each event. Youth sessions need parent permission (parent-signed waiver) and everyone who attends needs to agree to our terms and sign our waiver.
I reserved a spot, now what?
You should receive an email with details of the exact location, time, a list of what to bring, and a schedule of the workshop you are attending. Please fill out and return the liability waiver immediately, as it is required for attendance, and you will be turned away without one on file before arriving for the workshop.
What should I bring?
Nearly all workshops happen outdoors (because that’s the main point of Events Wild). Please bring a water bottle, a healthy, picnic style meal (or snack) that you can eat outdoors, and appropriate clothing for the weather. We meet rain or shine, so if we meet in the rain, you’ll need footwear and a coat that can get wet. All of our workshops have body movement, so please wear clothing that allows movement without restricting you. Jeans are generally bad. Tight-fitting jeans are worse. Stretchy pants that you are comfortable in, or light-weight fabrics that allow movement are best.
How long are the workshops?
Standard workshops are 3 hours long and occasionally end with a meal and reflection time. Some workshops are double (6 hours) and include a drive to a farther location. Retreats last two days and include one overnight. Longer workshops and Retreats are noted on the calendar and in the email correspondence you receive when you reserve a spot. Please don’t plan to leave early or arrive late. You will miss valuable activities.
Where do the workshops happen?
Location varies, but all are selected to include a shelter or covered area, restrooms, and plenty of outdoor experience. Water and light are not always available (hikes and night activities) so refer to your email correspondence or this page for a checklist.
Can I bring a group to a single workshop?
Yes, we call those Private Workshops. We can tailor a workshop for your group, so if you are a work group, a social group, a family, need a team building activity, or need to focus on your health and wellness, we can customize a workshop or series of workshops for you. See more on the Private Workshops page
How many people attend each event?
Minimum 4, maximum 12. We keep each group personal and manageable. If a class does not have 4 attendees within a week of it’s date, we will consider cancelling it.
What is your cell phone policy?
Quite simply, whether you bring it or not, your phone will be OFF during the workshop (that’s one of the main points of Events Wild) to reduce distraction, expressly break your habitual routines, and allow you to focus on the workshop activities exclusively. We will offer you the opportunity to completely let go of your phone (we’ll keep it safe and protected) for the duration of your workshop.
Do you cancel for weather?
Almost never. Being outside in the weather is part of the experience. We don’t believe that there is bad weather, just bad preparation. That said, if windstorms are knocking out power, or roads are covered in snow or ice, we will most likely reschedule, to keep everyone safe.
What if I need to cancel after I’ve reserved?
Please send us email as soon as you know this might be a possibility. More than one week in advance, we will either issue a credit or refund, depending on the timing. Within a week, cancellations incur the cost of the workshop.
